Celebrating Steph’s Journey at Grace & Vision

Steph has been part of the Grace & Vision family since 2014, bringing warmth, positivity, and dedication from the very first day she walked in wearing her memorable bright pink floral skirt. With a Master’s degree in Dietetics, she originally trained in healthcare before finding her passion in optometry. That background, combined with her natural discipline as a dancer and her caring nature as a mum, has made her an invaluable member of our team.

Over the years, Steph has been a driving force behind so many aspects of the practice from marketing and staff training to coordinating our vision therapy program always going above and beyond with a smile. She has a rare gift for connecting with both patients and colleagues, creating an atmosphere of kindness and trust. Even now, working fewer days, her impact and presence continue to make our practice feel like family. Next time you visit, be sure to say hello – you’ll instantly feel her warmth.

Running a business for 23 years has been challenging but also rewarding.  The journey has been fun and exciting with my team as they are like my extended family. It was fun to explore the unknown and constantly seeking growth and improvement with the people you enjoy working with.

Thank you for letting us works alongside with you and your family.

Warm regards,
Lucy Hsieh

Behind The Scenes of Grace & Vision

Team Moments That Make the Difference

Our team recently swapped the clinic for the mini-golf course, the perfect chance to unwind with some friendly competition. From spectacular putts to plenty of near misses, the laughter carried into the evening, where shared stories and hotel hijinx brought even more smiles. Moments like these strengthen our bonds and make us an even better team for our clients.

Beyond the fun, we’re always looking for ways to grow together. This year, our team has attended several industry conferences and eyewear shows, exploring the latest in lens technology, optical design, and fashion trends. These experiences not only inspire us but ensure we bring back fresh ideas and innovations to the clinic. Whether we’re testing new frame collections, refining our skills, or sharing insights from the field, our goal remains the same – to deliver exceptional care and style for every client who walks through our doors.

Brand Spotlight

At Grace & Vision Optometrist, we believe great eyewear should feel effortless – almost like it isn’t there at all. That’s why we’re delighted to spotlight Silhouette, an Austrian brand that has mastered the art of minimalism and precision. For decades, Silhouette has redefined what lightweight eyewear can be, combining feather-light materials with timeless design and exceptional comfort.

When we first experienced Silhouette frames, we were genuinely amazed – not just by their barely-there weight, but by how they seem to disappear while enhancing your natural features. Every pair embodies the brand’s philosophy of “less frame, more you”, crafted with innovation that’s both subtle and sophisticated.

Feather-light comfort, uncompromising durability.
Meticulously handmade with cutting-edge engineering and timeless craftsmanship
Minimalist design, maximum elegance

A Legacy of Innovation

Founded in 1964 by Anneliese and Arnold Schmied in Linz, Austria, Silhouette Eyewear began with a vision to transform eyewear from a mere functional necessity into a stylish accessory. Their pioneering spirit led to the creation of the Titan Minimal Art in 1999, the world’s first screwless, rimless titanium frame, revolutionizing the eyewear industry with its lightweight design and minimalist aesthetic.
Today, Silhouette remains a family-owned business, exporting to over 100 countries and operating as a global benchmark in premium, lightweight eyewear.

Craftsmanship: Austrian Excellence

Every Silhouette frame is handcrafted in Austria, following a meticulous process that includes up to 264 production steps and more than 100 quality checks. Around 80% of the work is done by hand, ensuring precision, comfort, and an unmistakable level of care.

Their in-house Lens Lab in Linz produces both frames and lenses, creating a seamless integration of design, material and optical performance. This guarantees perfect alignment, clarity, and balance.
From screwless and hingeless constructions to ultra-light builds certified even for space missions, the craftsmanship speaks to innovation and quality in every detail.

Sustainability

Silhouette places sustainability at the heart of its operations. Their manufacturing site uses 100% CO₂-free energy, alongside water-recycling systems, reflecting a commitment to environmental responsibility.
Their “Clear Sky” collection utilises SPX®️ Green+ – a bio-circular material derived from organic by-products, reducing carbon footprint by approximately 60% compared to traditional fossil-based plastics.
As one of the few EMAS-certified eyewear makers, they prove luxury and sustainability can go hand in hand.

Engineering Elegance

Iconic and Effortless

Silhouette frames are for those who appreciate understated luxury – the kind that speaks quietly but leaves a lasting impression. Whether you prefer their classic rimless designs or the contemporary Essence collection, each pair offers a perfect balance of function and form.

Experience what it means to see – and feel – true lightness. We invite you to try on Silhouette in-store and discover why these frames continue to set the global standard for comfort and innovation.

Client Story

Jelena’s Coco Song Discovery

When Jelena first visited our practice, she already knew exactly what she was looking for – something bold, beautiful, and full of character. Having bought her mother’s first pair of Coco Song frames seven years ago, Jelena had long admired the brand’s intricate craftsmanship and vivid colours.

“When it was my time for glasses, I looked to Coco Song straight away,” she told us.

What drew her in were the unique details – feathers, silk, and delicate gold accents woven into every frame. “Such attention to detail speaks of quality that’s becoming rare these days,” she shared.

Now, only a year into wearing glasses herself, Jelena already owns two pairs – each one an expression of her individuality and style. And she’s already looking forward to adding more to her collection in the future – almost like a wardrobe for eyewear!

Jelena’s story is a wonderful reminder that eyewear can be so much more than functional – it can be a true reflection of personality, creativity, and confidence.
