Dear Grace & Vision Family,
Many of you have been with us for 5, 10, even over 20 years and that means the world to me. Over the years, I’ve shared not only your vision care journey but also glimpses of your lives, your stories, and your wisdom. It’s been a privilege to get to know each one of you like reading a rich, unique book filled with experiences I continue to learn from.
Though I may not personally serve every customer, I am deeply committed to building and nurturing a team that reflects the same care, thoughtfulness, and professionalism you’ve come to expect from Grace & Vision. We work hard to ensure you not only see well but also look good and feel good in the eyewear we carefully craft for you. It’s the least I can do to take care of the people who entrust us with their most precious gift – eyesight!
Over the last 23 years, we can safely say that we have looked at hundreds of thousands of glasses frames. We’ve carried a wide variety of brands and styles, each chosen with care. But in recent years, we’ve truly refined our selection to reflect what best suits our customers – both in function and in style.
Today, we focus on sourcing niche, distinctive frames that suit a wide range of personalities, professions, and facial features. Every frame you see on our shelves is hand-picked by our team. We try on every frame ourselves, carefully considering comfort, fit, and design.
When we curate our selection, we put ourselves in your shoes:
– The office worker who needs something minimal, lightweight, and comfortable for long hours at a screen.
– The stylish woman who wants a bold pop of colour for a night out.
– The builder who needs something strong and reliable on the job.
– The teenager who’s after something fun but not over the top.
We go on this journey with every frame we choose because we’re choosing it for you.
We’re deeply committed to continuous improvement for every member of our team. That’s why we choose to close our practice for two hours each week to invest in staff training. During this time, we focus on sharpening our communication, service, product knowledge, and problem-solving skills. The goal is simple: to enhance our accuracy and attention to detail, so we get things right the first time, every time.
As a small team, we’ve chosen to prioritise quality over volume unlike large chain stores. Our mission is to provide stylish, high-quality eyewear and lenses, and to take exceptional care of the customers who choose and trust us.
To make this possible, I believe in building a strong, happy team because when our team feels supported and valued, they pass that care on to you.
Many visiting optometrists and optometry students are genuinely surprised by the level of quality control we uphold in our practice. Every job whether it’s a pair of glasses or Ortho-K lenses goes through a detailed series of checks to ensure everything is precisely as it should be. These behind-the-scenes steps don’t generate revenue, and most customers will never see them but we do them anyway. Because your trust deserves nothing less.
I remember when my son was 12 and learned about the effort we put into all the steps we take, even when no one is watching. He was so impressed, he told me, “Mum, you should make a video to show the whole world!” (He quickly changed his mind five minutes later worried that if business got busier, there would be less mum for him.)
In many other places, jobs from the lab are sent straight to the customer without being rechecked simply because there isn’t enough time or staff. But for us, every single pair is inspected for precision, lens quality, and frame condition both before it’s sent out and again when it returns from the lab. We ask ourselves: Is there anything more we can do for this customer?
I have been questioned many times if it’s important to ensure this high standard of quality for every single job, every single day. If it’s a step we could skip.
But the answer, for us, is simple: we don’t do it because we have to, we do it because we need to.
There’s a deep sense of pride and professional integrity in knowing that when we hand over a pair of glasses, it’s perfect. Not just “good enough” but right. Because it matters to the one person who chose us and placed their trust in our hands.
We allocate 30 minute appointments for every eyewear collection, a practice that’s rare in other stores. We use this time to ensure your frames are fitted comfortably, and you feel confident using your new glasses. We also take the time to train or refresh each customer on how to care for your glasses, because we believe empowering our customers with the right knowledge has a big impact on the longevity of your glasses.
Not many practices offer this level of personalised care but for us, it’s a matter of professional pride. We want you to see well, look great, and feel your best.
Our team serves with heart and soul, and we feel genuinely grateful for the opportunity to share life’s journey with each of you. That’s why we take the time to know you by name because to us, you’re not just a customer, you’re part of the Grace & Vision family.
Whether you have been with us over 5 or 20 years, it’s a true privilege to have earned your trust over such a long time. We feel joy when new patients join us, and we feel a real sense of loss when someone has to move on. I still miss some of the wonderful people who have been part of our journey.
We know that our approach won’t be the right fit for everyone, and that’s okay. But for those who choose us, we are fully committed to doing our best for you and your family. I’ve worked hard to build a team of people who are not only skilled, but willing to walk the extra mile to ensure you feel seen, heard, and genuinely cared for.
During every consultation, we take the time to truly listen so we can tailor your lenses to suit your lifestyle and care for your overall eye health. When it comes time to dispense your glasses, we make sure every detail is right, and that all your needs are fully met.
This level of personalised care is a big commitment. We ask our team to treat each person who walks through our doors as they would their own family. And they do, consistently, with heart and integrity. By the end of each day, our team is often exhausted from giving their all.
Your eyes allow you to see your loved ones, study, work, create, and care for others. Whether you’re reading X-rays, teaching music, designing buildings, treating patients, running a business, writing an article, painting, or gardening your vision is at the heart of it all.
That’s why we never take our work lightly.
We approach eye care with the same depth of thought and care you put into your own profession. We think not only about clear vision, but also about long-term eye health how to prevent disease, slow its progression, and support healthy eye development in children. Eyes are incredibly precious and complex, and that’s why optometry is a five-year degree followed by lifelong learning.
We continually update our knowledge, invest in advanced diagnostic equipment, and stay current with the latest research because we’re committed to giving you the very best.
To everyone who chooses us, our promise is simple: we’re here to protect and enhance your vision, so you can keep doing what you love.
I believe in using my blessings to support others, and don’t want to take it for granted. Since 2009, my husband and I have contributed to charities we deeply care about. I truly believe that some people’s suffering is through no fault of their own, and just need a little support to get through the hard times. The following are organisations we are supporting:
These contributions are possible because of your continued support.
I started Grace & Vision Optometrist over 20 years ago with one purpose: to care for people through their eyes.
I wanted to create a place where people felt truly seen — not just as patients, but as individuals with unique stories, needs, and lives. A place where care is never rushed, quality is never compromised, and every pair of glasses is chosen with heart.
When you choose us for an eye exam, glasses, Ortho-K lenses, or treatment you receive far more than a product or a service. You receive our care, commitment, and a promise to always put your well-being first.
Thank you for being part of our journey. Whether you’ve been with us for years or just discovered us, I’m deeply grateful for your trust.
I look forward to seeing you again soon.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Lucy Hsieh
We wrapped up the year with a beautiful dinner at the new Queen’s Wharf, complete with fireworks lighting up the river, the perfect ending to a fantastic year together. It was a special chance for our team to pause, celebrate the year’s hard work, and enjoy time together outside the practice.
Moments like these refill our cups, so we can keep looking after you and your family with fresh energy in the new year.
At Grace & Vision Optometrist, we’re always on the hunt for eyewear that doesn’t just look amazing – it feels like you. That’s why we’re thrilled to introduce Ørgreen, a frame brand we’ve admired for years and are now proud to offer in-store. When we first discovered Ørgreen, we were struck by their craftsmanship: Danish design with a rebellious spirit, built with ultra-lightweight titanium and colour palettes you won’t find anywhere else.
But we didn’t bring them in just because they’re beautiful (they are). We did it because they fit the way we choose every frame: intentionally, thoughtfully, and with you in mind. We invite you to come see what makes Ørgreen more than just a frame – and why we believe it could be the missing piece in your perfect pair.
Over twenty years ago, three visionary friends from Copenhagen – Henrik Ørgreen, Gregers Fastrup, and Sahra Lysell – set out to redefine eyewear with a simple yet powerful goal: to create timeless, high-quality frames for individuals who value both style and substance. That idea gave birth to Ørgreen Optics in 1997.
What makes Ørgreen truly stand out is their unwavering commitment to excellence and quality – values that deeply resonate with our own.
That’s why we’re so excited to introduce Ørgreen Optics to our lovely customers. We believe their beautifully crafted frames and thoughtful design will inspire just as much love and loyalty in you as they have around the world.
Every frame is handmade across 8 different specialized locations, with more than 100 meticulous steps involved in the process. From the initial design to the final polish, each detail is carefully refined by skilled artisans to ensure the highest quality, durability, and comfort.
This level of dedication means that Ørgreen frames don’t just look beautiful – they feel exceptional, fit perfectly, and last for years.
Holding a pair of Ørgreen glasses means looking at the perfect composition of individual design choices – even down to the color selection. With their dedicated in-house colorist Sahra Lysell, the brand has put great effort into developing unique color stories which draw inspiration from art, design, architecture and nature: “I like colours in nature – how they affect us, how they make us energetic and happy, and how we are touched by frequencies when we see colour.” – Sahra Lysell, Sinir colorist.
The whole range of Ørgreen products is made in Japan, a land known for its proud tradition of superior eyewear manufac- turing and applying the highest standard to every step of the process. Combining this manufacturing ethos with the Danish design culture of precision and excellence delivers a product that is characterized by a love of detail, and longevity.
These Danish-designed and Japanese-crafted frames are where Scandinavian minimalism meets bold personality — perfect for those who want their glasses to stand out just enough. Each Ørgreen frame takes an incredible 4 to 6 months to produce. Why? Because excellence can’t be rushed.

When the Niazi family visited our clinic, it was such a joy to welcome them in. From the moment they arrived, there was a lovely sense of warmth and curiosity — they wanted to find glasses that not only improved their vision but also suited their individual styles.
“The team was so welcoming, and the consultation with the optometrist was thorough but never rushed,” they told us. “We compared lens options, from lightweight designs to blue-light protection, and got honest advice that really helped us choose what worked best.”
They appreciated the clear pricing, careful fittings, and practical after-care tips — and by the end of their visit, everyone had found frames that felt just right.
“We love our new glasses and could see the difference straight away!” they shared with a smile.
We loved helping the Niazi family find eyewear that fits their lifestyle and personalities. Their experience is a lovely reminder that great vision care is about more than clear sight – it’s about feeling confident, comfortable, and cared for.
We start with a friendly chat to get to know you – your concerns, lifestyle, how you use your glasses each day, and what’s most important to you when choosing a pair. This helps us give you the right advice from the beginning.
When it comes to frame styling, we focus on what suits you best. We look at your personal style, face shape, features, colouring, and your prescription – which is where our expertise really shines.
We’ll also explain your lens options in a clear, helpful way and offer choices to suit different budgets. Our aim is to make the whole process simple, stress-free, and even enjoyable.
Let us help you discover the look that fits your face and lifestyle.
